Cakalesvara Mahadeva came near the bank of Govardhana. He is present there. Why?

If anyone gives Govardhana`s caranamrita to Caklesvara Mahadeva, he will very quickly take away their sins and past karma, and give them vraja-vasa and vraja-seva. Therefore, the devotees offer Govardhana’s caranamrita to Sivaji. Giriraja Govardhana’s caranamrita is present in Manasi Ganga. He bathes and stays in Manasi Ganga. It is Giriraja Govardhana’s caranamrita. If anyone offers that Ganga water to Sivaji, then even without bhajana, he gives everything. He makes the path to the soul’s welfare clear.

Does he give all worldly perfections? No. He will give perfection in bhakti. Srila Sanatana Gosvami stayed near Cakalesvara Mahadeva and daily performed Govardhana parikrama. After some days, Srila Sanatana Gosvami said, “I won’t come stay with you. Worldly people come and their hearts are very dirty, therefore, they make you dirty. They give sweets, milk, flowers, and leave everything very dirty, so then flies and mosquitoes come. Just by coming and throwing things, is this puja?”

By throwing milk and not cleaning up, animals and insects will come lick it and pass stool there. This is not worship. So, Srila Sanatana Gosvami said, “I won’t stay here. All day people come and offer milk and sweets. Everything rots and smells, and afterwards flies and mosquitoes come.

Sivaji said, “I’ll arrange a program. In the afternoon, no one will be allowed to give milk. If anyone does, then I will punish them. They must clean the puja area nicely, then mosquitoes won’t come. If you leave, then I will have no sat-sanga. All day asat sanga comes and offers me impure things. Please stay, and we will perform Bhagavan’s kirtana after I am dressed at noon.”

Many Babajis came and did kirtana for Sivaji. It was arranged that hari-katha, sravana and kirtana would always go on there. If one knows that Cakalesvara Mahadeva is the nearest and dearest of Krishna, then he will give them mercy and entrance to Vraja. If tamasika people come and offer alcohol, then he will send them back to their hellish existence. But the Vrajavasis offer sweet rice and many wonderful preparations, and bathe Sivaji with Manasi Ganga water.

Sivaji is always present there by Bhagavan’s desire. Krishna called him there. The sakhas said, “Here is Manasi Ganga, but where is Siva?”

Then Krishna called Sivaji and showed him to the sakhas.

Srila Sanatana Gosvami came in kali-yuga and did bhajana at that place. In the morning, he would go on parikrama, and come back in the afternoon. He performed abhisheka, dressed Siva Thakura, and offered anything he had. He had a deep relationship with Siva Thakura.

Siva Thakura said, “Don’t leave me.”

Srila Sanatana Gosvami said, “How can I stay? All bogus people come, offer milk and honey and make everything dirty. Therefore, I won’t stay.”

Siva Thakura said, “No, stay! No one will disturb you. I like hari-katha and hari-kirtana, and I like your association.”

Siva Thakura worships Giriraja Govardhana with Ganga water for the pleasure of Krishna. He knows that by staying near the devotees and making relationship with them, God will be very pleased.

  1. Its a very good example that Vaishnavas can have a relationship with demigods, especially with Shiva. Often it is told that Vaishnavas should not worship demigods. But even hight class devotees of the Lord do that. After all:

    nimna-gānāṁ yathā gaṅgā
    devānām acyuto yathā
    vaiṣṇavānāṁ yathā śambhuḥ
    purāṇānām idam tathā

Just as the Gaṅgā is the greatest of all rivers, Lord Acyuta the supreme among deities and Lord Śambhu [Śiva] the greatest of Vaiṣṇavas, so Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is the greatest of all Purāṇas.

  2. If someone has the capability to translate this value piece of text in to German language, i would be very happy. Just do it and then contact me, so i can put it on this blog.
