Even if a person such as Satan exists, he is no more than a special jiva (living entity) under the control of God, and has no power to do anything that is opposed to God’s will. However, in my opinion, it is not possible for such a monstrous living entity to exist. No activity can take place that is contrary to the will of Isvara, nor is any living entity independent of the Lord.
Yesterday was Makhara-sankranti, the descending of the Ganges River. All Indians, even those living very far away from Ganges, will somehow go there to take bath. When I was a little baby in India, I used to take bath with my father on this very day. I remember that although it was very cold, still I would jump in. On this day all the bathing ghats are full with hundreds of thousands of people.

Meat can never be obtained without injury to living creatures, and injury to sentient beings is detrimental to the attainment of heavenly bliss; let him therefore shun the use of meat. Having well considered the disgusting origin of flesh and the cruelty of fettering and slaying corporeal beings, let him entirely abstain from eating flesh.”(Manu-samhita 5.48-49)
Before Srimad-Bhagavatam, no scripture had given the information that anyone had bound the Supreme Lord. Sri Kṛṣṇa is that Supreme Lord. There is no limit to His expanse – inner, outer, upper, lower, downward or sideways. How, then, could a rope, which is itself matter and has limit, bind the unlimited Krsna? That rope was sat-cit-ananda, and especially it was made of the vatsalya-prema of Mother Yasoda. Actually it wasn’t an ordinary rope; it was the rope that Mother Yasoda used to tie her hair. Kṛṣṇa was bound simply by that.
A brahmana in Kasi Varanasi once prayed to Lord Siva, “I want to give my daughter in marriage, but I have no money. Please give me money.” Lord Siva told him, “Go to Vrndavana and meet with Srila Sanatana Gosvami. You can ask him to give you some wealth for your daughter’s marriage.” The brahmana went to Vrndavana, by foot, and there he asked the villagers there for the whereabouts of a person named Sanatana Gosvami. As they all knew him, they pointed out his residence.
In the vedic scriptures you can find answers that are good to know. Where do we come from? Clear statement we can find also in the purports of the mantras 16. and 17. of the Śrī Īśopaniṣad given bei A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. That is a standard book and all Vaishnavas and truth-seeker should have read […]
This is an interesting article. It was written in the year 1937 by his Holiness Sri Kanu Priya Goswami, a very prominent Gaudiya Vaishnava at that time. (Please note: Sri Kanu Priya Goswami is not completely accepted in the Gaudiya Math lines of thoughts, as far as philosophical conclusions are concerns. After reserving this article from […]
